El departamento del Choco es una de las regiones mas olvidadas del mundo, esta ubicado en el pulmon de la madre tierra y su incontable abundancia mineral y ecologica hacen de este lugar uno de los mas ricos del continente, mas sin embargo el nivel devastador de pobreza y miseria en la que se encuentra su gente lo convierten en uno de los mas pobres del mundo.

Es un lugar hermoso, un paraiso donde el susurro de las olas agitando la arena hunde el sol en el ocaso mientras las luciernagas aumentan el numero de estrellas al reflejo de el cielo en las aguas del oceano Pacifico. Es una tierra fertil, caliente y humeda, una selva tropical con innumerables docenas de especies de aves, reptiles, mariposas, arboles y criaturas marinas.

Mirando arriba, se descubre el infinito cielo, mirando al rededor se observa el folclor y color de la cultura mezclandose con lindos paisajes que recuerdan en cada detalle lo valioso de nuestro planeta.
Explorando bajo la tierra se encuentra una de los mas grandes caudales minerales de la mejor calidad de oro y platino en el mundo, esmeraldas y otras piedras preciosas; y lo mas sorprendente de todo es la extraordinaria cantidad de este tesoro natural que abraza esta esquina del mundo esperando a ser extraido.

Mi sueño es el mismo sueño que millones de Colombianos compartimos, entrelazar fuerzas, prosperar, conservar el medio ambiente y ofrecerle un mejor mundo de paz y preservación de riqueza natural a nuestros hijos.

Me siento infinitamente orgullosa de ser Colombiana, espero algun dia poder servir a mi gente y quisiera poder enseñarle al mundo que las caras bonitas de Colombia son muchas y vale la pena luchar por ellas.

Looking up discover the infinite sky, look around and observe the folklore and color of the culture blending in amazing landscapes that remind you in every detail how valuable this planet is; Exploring underneath the land you will find one of the greatest mineral wealth’s, some of the best quality gold and platinum of the world, emeralds, and other precious stones; and the most breathtaking thing of all is the extraordinary amount of this natural treasure that is embraced in this corner of the world waiting to be extracted.

My dream is the same shared by millions of Colombians, to join forces, to prosper, to preserve the environment and to offer our children a better world of peace and natural wealth.

Chocó es uno de los 32 Departamentos de Colombia, localizado en el noroeste del país, en la Región del Pacífico colombiano, entre las Selvas del Darién y las cuencas de los ríos Atrato y San Juan.
Si Colombia es el único país suramericano con costa en los dos oceános, el Chocó es el único departamento colombiano con costas en ambas aguas, el Océano Pacífico y el Océano Atlántico. Es igualmente el único departamento limítrofe con el antiguo territorio colombiano de Panamá y considerado el lugar más húmedo del planeta.
Los límites del Chocó son: al norte, Antioquia, Panamá y el Mar Caribe; al oriente Antioquia, Risaralda y el Valle del Cauca; al sur Valle del Cauca, y al occidente Panamá y el Océano Pacífico. Su superficie es de 46.530 km². El territorio del Chocó es el espacio natural de las culturas Emberá y Wounaan (escrito también Uaunana), los cuales fueron llamados por los conquistadores españoles Los Chocoes.


Chocó is a department of Colombia known for its large Afro-Colombian population. It is in the west of the country, and is the only Colombian department to have coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean sea. It also has all of Colombia's border with Panama. Its capital is Quibdó.
Despite having an incredibly diverse geography, unique ecosystems and unexploited resources, Chocó is one of the Departments in Colombia with the worst human conditions for living. On March 2007 Colombian media reported the death of some 50 children due to starvation in less than three months, this created awareness of the grave condition Chocó inhabitants are facing. Despite being the world's rainiest lowland, with close to 400 inches of annual precipitation Chocó's capital Quibdó was left without water.
